KANE COUNTY — On July 23, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary experienced a fire on its adjoining Three Lakes property. Security guard Jordan Steed spotted smoke coming from west of the Sanctuary and reported it to Color Country Interagency, confirming the fire was located on Best Friends’ property. KANE COUNTY — A hiker who became sepa­rated from his group while visiting The Wave was rescued after an extensive overnight search in the Wire Pass and Buckskin Gulch area, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
