Jupiter closest to Earth this Friday night, January 9
If you’ve been meaning to look through a telescope, this week offers a great reason to do it. On January 9, Jupiter reaches “perigee,” which is its closest point to Earth during this orbit. On January 10, Jupiter will be at “opposition,” which is when it sits directly opposite the Sun in our sky. But as wonderful as the season can be, it’s easy for that magic to fade when money is tight. Many of us feel pressure to find special gifts for loved ones, even when we’re trying to stick to a budget. The good news? You don’t have to spend a lot to show you care.
