Long Valley Chapter of Future Farmers of America holds its ever-popular Deer Hunters Ball
On Thursday, October 15, for the first time in the new gym, the Long Valley Chapter of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) displayed, then raffled a wide array of items ranging from baseball caps to three brand new canoes donated by Shanna Frost with Frost Painting and Maintenance, as well as a picnic table and hand-hewn loveseat created by Clayton Cox of Mountain Rustic Furniture. State Bank of Southern Utah and Garkane also contributed.

Pretty-in-pink, Delaney Bauer carries a camp chair won during Valley's FFA Raffle in the new gym, while President Holden Harris draws another name.
The highlighted features were two rolled-up sleeve drawings by the District’s Special Reporter, Keaton Earl, out of St. George for a $1500 gift certificate toward the purchase of a rifle from Spencer’s Gunsmith & Sale, including another gift certificate from there for a $500 credit for the one-time purchase of bullets donated by Rob Hatch.
Describing this year’s event, Chapter President Holden Harris said, “We just finished-up our Annual Deer Hunters Ball, which is pretty much a big raffle. We get those prizes from all over the area and raffle them off, make a lot of money and this year was no different. It was a successful night! Coming up, we’ve got our trip to Indianapolis for the National Convention.”
