Great views, good company and a beautiful morning on the trail! The sun shone on Kanab City’s first Boots on the Ground event as community members joined City Manager Kyler Ludwig and Museums Director Emily Bentley for a morning hike along the K-Hill Trail on Tuesday, October 27.

Participants enjoyed the beautiful views of Kanab, spotted wildlife along the trail, caught up with old friends and made a few new ones along the way. Conversations ranged from upcoming museum programs and events to new businesses in town and a variety of other matters affecting Kanab City. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect and get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere outside the Kanab City offices.

The Boots on the Ground program was created to bring city employees and community members together in a more informal setting while enjoying one of Kanab’s greatest treasures, our beautiful red rock landscape. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first hike! We look forward to making Boots on the Ground an ongoing opportunity to explore our beautiful surroundings and strengthen community connections.

Future hikes will feature different members of Kanab City staff, offering even more opportunities to get to know the people who serve our community. Keep an eye out for our next adventure!
