It’s the best time of year to explore Northern Arizona. The temperatures are cool, the leaves are changing and all National Parks and Monuments including Grand Canyon, Glen Canyon & Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, Sunset Crater Walnut Canyon and Wupatiki are open for visitors.

These destinations are the economic engine for gateway communities like Flagstaff, Fredonia, Page, Sedona, Tuba City, Tusayan and Williams who have also been hit hard this year by the White Sage and Dragon Bravo Fires.
“These special places have an array of restaurants, shops, lodging and attractions that complete the Grand Canyon experience for many visitors,” said, Patrice Horstman, Coconino County District 1 Supervisor and Chair of the Board. “From Williams, an old west town along Historic Route 66, to Page, where slot canyons and lakes meet dark skies, northern Coconino County is the perfect fall destination.”
Visitors are encouraged to “know before you go” and check the online visit planner for information about what services are available during the federal government shutdown. For example, information about Grand Canyon National Park is available at nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/grand-canyon-national-park-public-health-update.htm
Events are happening across Coconino County throughout the month of October.
