At about 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, two cars collided on the road heading east out of town, near Honey’s Marketplace and Subway.

One of the vehicles was exiting the Honey’s parking lot, where another vehicle was turning in; with the view of the outer lane obscured by the turning vehicle, the vehicle exiting the lot turned left and collided with another vehicle. Kanab City Police, along with supporting traffic control, responded to the scene, followed quickly by EMS.
All three individuals involved in the crash were treated on-scene by the ambulance crew; the driver of the first vehicle refused medical transport, determining that she was uninjured, and the driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. While one vehicle was towed off-scene by local tow services, the other was intact enough to exit the scene on its own.
Citations were written on scene, and the details of the incident are still being confirmed, so law enforcement is not offering any further details at this time.
Traffic authorities observing the situation sought to remind the public to drive defensively and cautiously, especially in high-traffic areas and those frequented by drivers potentially unfamiliar with the location. Drivers are also urged to be aware of their speed in locations where a highway transitions into a town.
