A suspect is in custody following a triple homicide that shook central Utah last week and triggered a multi-state manhunt involving several regional law enforcement agencies, including the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say three women were killed Wednesday, March 4, in separate but related incidents near the towns of Lyman and Torrey in Wayne County.
According to investigators, two women were found dead along a hiking trail near Torrey after a call to emergency dispatch. During the course of the investigation, a third victim was discovered dead at a residence in the Lyman area.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ivan Miller of Iowa, was later tracked through southern Utah, into northern Arizona and ultimately into Colorado, where he was taken into custody in Pagosa Springs without incident.

Charging documents allege Miller killed the victims during a series of encounters while attempting to obtain vehicles and money as he traveled through the region.
Law enforcement officials say the investigation involved a wide network of agencies. The Utah Department of Public Safety credited multiple partners for assistance, including the FBI, Bureau of Land Management and sheriff’s offices from Kane, Sevier and Archuleta counties, along with police in Page, Arizona.
During the search for the suspect, residents in Wayne County were urged to remain indoors, lock their doors and report suspicious activity. Schools in the Wayne County School District were also temporarily closed as a precaution while the suspect remained at large.
Officials say there is no ongoing threat to the public, and investigators continue processing multiple crime scenes connected to the case.
The suspect faces three counts of aggravated murder in Utah.
Authorities say the investigation remains active.
