Kane County EMS is pleased to announce it has received $24,000 in grant funding from the Kane County Commission and the Kane County Economic Opportunity Board to support advanced emergency medical services education for its providers. This investment will directly strengthen emergency care across Kane County’s rural communities and for the many visitors who rely on local EMS each year.

The grant funding is being used to support an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course for current Kane County EMS providers. This specialized training allows experienced EMTs to expand their scope of practice and develop more advanced clinical skills and procedures. As a result, patients can receive a higher level of care sooner - often before reaching a hospital - when minutes matter most.
For a rural county with long transport times and limited access to specialty care, advanced EMS education is especially critical. By training current providers locally, Kane County EMS can improve service capability while retaining skilled professionals who are already familiar with the community, geography and unique challenges of rural emergency response. This funding reflects the continued commitment of the Kane County Commission and the Kane County Economic Opportunity Board to public safety, workforce development and high-quality emergency services. Their support helps ensure Kane County EMS remains pre-pared to meet the evolving needs of residents and visitors alike.
Kane County EMS appreciates this partnership and the opportunity to invest in its providers, ultimately enhancing emergency medical care throughout the county. On-going education and training remain a cornerstone of delivering safe, effective and reliable EMS services in Kane County.
