A beautiful, sunny day welcomed ChamÂber of Commerce members to Kanab Hampton Inn for pizza provided by chamber member Pizza Hut. Chamber Board MemÂber Lacee Brown was the MC, welcoming attendees, sharing announcements, and noting new and renewÂing members for the month.
Jerica Bauer was the first guest of the day, speaking about the Kane County Care and Share food bank and its three locations in Kanab, Orderville, and Big Water. All three food pantries are supported by Kane County, City of Kanab, Town of Orderville, Five County AOG, Utah Food Bank, State and Federal Grants and by individual doÂnations.
Jerica also spoke about the Kane County active living centers which promote the social, physical, emoÂtional, and nutritional well-being of older adults and those with disabilities. The cenÂters provide services and activities that maintain senior citiÂzen independence and wellness. She noted that both Kane County Active Living CenÂters locations are open for congregate lunch, home delivery or pick up.
Kristi Bundrick was up next with informaÂtion about the Kane County Assistance Program (KCAP). This program helps with emergencies and unÂexpected situations, as well as provides assisÂtance including food, prescriptions, utilities, gas, repairs, and other specific needs.
Lastly, Jackie HobÂson with Utah’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was present to tell members about all they do for our area and beyond. Through a collaborative network of public and private partners, SBDC helps Utah-based manufacÂturers secure capital for equipment, expanÂsion, and operations. They tap into State and Federal incentives for onshoring, sustainÂability, and workforce training.
About 40 businesses were in attendance for the November lunch. Thank you for hosting us, Hampton Inn!
