With gloves on and trash bags in hand, students from Fredonia Elementary School showed their love for the environment through a school-wide clean-up drive that brought all grade levels together in a shared mission to care for the Earth.

On April 16, 2025, after the joyful laughter of the Easter Egg Hunt faded and the kindergarten through second-grade students returned to their classrooms, it was time for the upper graders to take the stage - this time, not for play but for purpose. Third through sixth-grade students headed to Fredonia Park where they cleaned up litter scattered across the grounds. Their efforts turned the park back into a clean, welcoming space for everyone in the community to enjoy.
The younger students had their own opportunity to shine the following week. On April 24, 2025, kindergarten through second grade students took on the task of cleaning up the Fredonia Elementary playground. With determination and excitement, they worked together to pick up trash caught along the fences and around the play area. Their smiles and teamwork made the cleanup both productive and fun.
This clean-up drive is the elementary department’s official service project for the 2024 - 2025 school year, designed not only to beautify the school and surrounding areas, but also to teach students the importance of environmental stewardship. The activity served as a gentle yet powerful reminder that part of caring for nature is doing our part to help keep it clean and green.
With bright spirits and willing hands, Fredonia’s young environmental champions reminded us all that even small acts of care can lead to a cleaner, healthier world.
