Festivities at Fredonia Library

The children of Fredonia look forward to Fridays, not only because they don’t have school, but because of the fun activities that the Fredonia Town Library holds every Friday! The activities are always different, and this past Friday it was centered around STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math.) The kids had a blast as they made straw rockets and made domino chain reactions!

The activities are not limited to Friday, they also have an Early Lit activity every Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. for ages 0-5. They have story time and often a cute craft for the kids to complete and take home. The library also has computers for kids with fun games that help them learn different things. The kids also have the opportunity to win prizes and treats when they get a scratch card on Wednesdays and Fridays. So much motivation for the kids to visit the library and have the opportunity to read and check out new books!

The activities at the library are not only for kids. The staff makes sure to have something for everyone to do! They hold a craft night once a month that you can sign up for and have a relaxing night, crafting and visiting with other women. They also have a Sit and Knit social every Wednesday at 1 p.m. As you can see, the library is very busy holding all sorts of events for the community.

The library is run by Tonya Johnson, Lisa Findlay and Mary Ballard. It is safe to say that the library is in good hands with them in charge! We appreciate all they do to keep the community busy and keep the kids excited about reading and learning!
