Dear Kanab, With Love is a month-long campaign encouraging people to write “love letters” to Kanab. These love letters are personal messages that celebrate what makes Kanab special and why it matters to those who call it home.

History is often preserved through the written word. Just as letters, newspapers and archives help us understand the generations that came before us, these love letters will help future generations understand who we are and what matters to us. This campaign gives community members a way to show that they were here and part of Kanab at this moment in time by sharing what they appreciate about the town, its people and everyday life. All submissions, whether short or long, will become part of the Kanab Museum’s permanent archive, preserving a record of the community today.

Participants are encouraged to write about anything they love about Kanab. There is no required format, and every contribution is welcome. After you write your love letter, drop it off at the Kanab Museum, Kanab Library or Kanab City Office where our special “love letter” mailboxes will be. Blank love letters will also be available at these locations.

In addition to written letters, community members are also invited to share their voices through the museum’s Story Booth, where oral contributions will be recorded and preserved. These spoken reflections add another layer to Kanab’s story, one told directly by the people who live here. The Story Booth will be at the Kanab Museum until January 17 and then at the Kanab Library until January 23.

This campaign is not about writing or saying something perfect. It is about sharing something positive and personal. Together, these letters and stories will serve as a reminder of what connects the Kanab community. Dear Kanab, with love. Let’s share what brings us together with each other.
