According to Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) reports, a pair of northbound Polaris RZRs had indicated intent to turn left off the highway, and had stopped to allow traffic to clear the southbound lane, when a Ford Explorer impacted the rear of the back OHV; the first collision pushed the OHV to the right side of the road, after which the truck collided with the rear of the second OHV.
UHP responded, along with Kane County and Kanab City to control traffic and secure the scene, followed by EMS out of Kane County. The drivers of the Ford and one of the RZRs, as well as one OHV’s passenger, were transported by ambulance with moderate injuries; the driver of the other OHV was transported by helicopter with significant injury.
According to UHP officials, charges are pending the investigation of the incident, as well as consultation with local law enforcement and the county attorney.
