On November 21, 2025, the Page Public Library hosted a community event called the “Friends-giving Potluck.” Featuring “Gratitude, Games and Movies,” the free event and meal was open to everyone.

Participants, who signed up in advance, were asked to bring a covered dish. The Library and City of Page sponsored the event and provided soft drinks and bottled water and hosted the event in the large periodicals area of the library. Library staff converted the reading rooms into a dining area.
With the view of the Vermilion Cliffs in the background, diners could watch “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” on a large TV screen while enjoying a good meal with friends and family, and members of the community. Some met new friends and found out about new businesses.
Participants, both young and old were invited to play “Pass the Pumpkin.” Music was played while a pumpkin was passed from one person to another until the music stopped. The person who ended up with the glittering pumpkin would say what they were thankful for before the music started again and passing the pumpkin around a table. Later, library staff distributed “Thanksgiving Bingo” cards giving diners another game to play as they crossed off different items called out by a library employee.
This is the second year for this event and it was again considered a success and a lot of fun. There was plenty of food for everyone. There was so much food that participants were asked to fill ‘take-home boxes’ and fill them with some of the leftover food.
Page Public Library won the “Best Small Town Library Award” in 2023 and is very active with the community. The library isn’t loaning just books these days. Library card holders can borrow a variety of things from camping and recreational equipment to electronic devices.
