KCSD Budget hearing for Fiscal Year 2027

The Kane Coun­ty School District (KCSD) will hold its official budget hear­ing for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) to adopt the district budget for the upcoming school year.

The public is wel­come to attend and offer comments. Dur­ing the hearing, a presentation will be provided to explain budget comparisons across FY25, FY26 and the proposed FY27 budget. Tax rate highlights:

• No Tax Increases: The Kane County School District budget includes no tax increases for the upcoming fiscal year.

• Low Tax Burden: KCSD maintains the eighth lowest tax levy out of the 41 school districts across the state.

• Below State Average: The district’s current tax rate is .004214, well below the state average of .005457, with the highest tax rate for a school district being Emery at .008671.

The proposed budget is available for public review on the KCSD website under the “District” tab, “Budget Information,” “FY27 Proposed Be-ginning Budget.”
