The Kane County Outreach Center behind the Kanab Center has been completed and is now being used by residents. The facility houses several county services and provides flexible space for community programs and events.

The facility, known as the Kane County Outreach Center, provides flexible indoor space designed to support a variety of community programs, meetings and public services.

“It is great to have the Kane County Outreach Center finally completed and being used by residents of Kane County,” Kane County Commissioner Patty Kubeja said. “It came to fruition because of the hard work and cooperation of many people in Kane County and the State of Utah.”

County officials say the facility was designed to bring several services and operations together in one location. Planning documents indicate the building is intended to support Kane County Care & Share, the county’s food bank, as well as Recovery Court services. The building also provides workspace for Kane County Buildings and Grounds operations and additional storage space for events and activities held at the Kanab Center.

Bringing those programs together in one facility is expected to help improve coordination and make it easier for residents to access assistance and community services.

The building adds additional space to the Kanab Center campus, which already serves as a hub for senior programs, classes, meetings and community events throughout the year. Officials say the added room will help relieve pressure on existing facilities that are frequently booked for activities.

The building is part of the cluster of civic facilities surrounding the Kanab Center and city offices, an area that has gradually developed into a central gathering place for community programs and services.

Construction of a separate recreation center is also underway nearby, though that larger facility remains unfinished.

County leaders say the new Outreach Center represents an investment in public infrastructure intended to support community services and programs as Kane County continues to grow.
