Kane County Hospital and community unite to raise over $8,500 for Kane County Care and Share

Kane County’s spirit of generosity was on full display through a recent community outreach effort led by Kane County Hospital. Partnering with local grocery stores, the hospital coordinated a checkout donation campaign to support our Kane County Care and Share, and the results made a meaningful impact.

Thanks to the kindness of community members, a total of $6,579.71 was raised through donations collected at Honey’s Marketplace, Glazier’s Market and Terry’s Food & Hardware. In addition, Kane County Hospital contributed $2,000, bringing the total raised to $8,579.71. Shoppers were invited to give while checking out, and those small, simple decisions added up quickly, demonstrating the power of a community working together to care for its own.

All funds have already been transferred directly to the Kane County Care and Share, where they are being used to purchase essential food and hygiene products for individuals and families in need. By purchasing in bulk, the organization is able to stretch these dollars further, ensuring that more people benefit from the generosity shown throughout the campaign.

Local leaders report the need for assistance continues to grow, with more families relying on Care and Share services each month. Efforts like this not only help meet immediate needs but also strengthen the long-term support system for the community.

“This effort highlighted both a growing need and an incredible response,” said Brittney Johnson, Clinical Dietitian and Outreach Specialist at Kane County Hospital. “Our community continues to show that even small contributions add up to something powerful. We want people to know the hospital is here to support and serve the needs of our area - not just inside our walls, but throughout the community. We are proud to stand alongside our local partners and residents in making a difference!”

Kane County Hospital extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated. Every donation, big or small, has already made a difference. This campaign is a strong reminder that when a community comes together, even the simplest acts of kindness can create lasting impact. We will be repeating this donation collection again in July to continue supporting, The Care and Share during these unpredictable times and to help meet the ongoing needs of local families.
