The Sterling Scholar program was developed by Deseret News and KSL-TV back in the early 1960s to recognize exceptional seniors in a public setting. Through this program outstanding students are selected and judged based on interviews and portfolios of their academic achievements, leadership qualities, and citizenship in their communities. Students who are Sterling Scholars can be awarded tuition waivers, college scholarships and local and regional cash awards.

Kanab High School will be represented by six students in the Southwest Region Sterling Scholar competition on April 1, 2021, at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. KHS students are: Visual Arts - William Douglass, Music – McKenna Raddatz, Dance - Caroline Giddings, Agricultural Sciences – Carter Ward, English –Mike Luo, and Science – Landon Adams.

At Kanab High School our Mission Statement is Success by Learning, Doing and Serving. These students exemplify those characteristics. We appreciate the hard work and dedication that has led each of these students to represent KHS as a Sterling Scholar. Good luck seniors!
