Kanab Arts Festival: a day of creativity, community and fun

Get ready for a day filled with art, music and hands-on fun at the Kanab Arts Festival! Brought to us by the Kanab Arts Board, the festival will be held on Saturday, October 18 at the Kanab Center. This free, family-friendly event celebrates creativity and talent, bringing the community together for an unforgettable experience.

The Kanab Arts Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free admission for all attendees. It will feature a wide range of activities and entertainment, including live dance performances, free art workshops, drawing contests, professional art show, handmade market and more.

The event will start on October 15 when artists start drawing their chalk art pieces for the annual Chalk It Up Contest. This year, the Kanab Arts Festival is offering new categories and all cash prizes (except for the 0-5 age category which will receive participation gifts).

Also, this year, the Kanab Arts Board is bringing two professional chalk artists to Kanab. Annamarie Geniusz and Jamie Vanderberg will be sharing their amazing skills as exhibiting chalk artists and will be working on their artworks before the big day. Stroll through town a few days before October 18 and try to spot them around the Kanab Center area. They love to share their work so be sure to welcome them and say “hello.”

“We’re excited to offer free activities and entertainment for the whole family, while also supporting local artists and makers,” said Claudia Thomas, President of the Kanab Arts Board. “2025 marks the second year this event has been known as ‘Kanab Arts Festival,’ previously called ‘Redrocktoberfest.’ With this change, our goal is to make the event more colorful, more art-focused and even more fun for everyone to enjoy!”
