Individual found dead in Kanab hotel room; official investigation ongoing

Reports came in on the morning of Saturday, May 24, of one of the tenants of the Best Friends Roadhouse found deceased in their room.

Best Friends offered the following statement on the issue: “We are deeply saddened to confirm that a guest has passed away on the property. We are cooperating with authorities and focusing on supporting those affected. Out of respect for the individual and their family, we will not be sharing personal details.”

According to the Kanab City Police Department, the investigation is ongoing and no statement is available at this time beyond confirming that a death occurred on the scene around that time; the KCPD anticipate medical reports will be available soon to confirm cause of death, the identity of the deceased individual and more precise timelines of the incident.
