Dogs make a big splash at Kanab City Pool

Kanab City Pool went to the dogs Saturday, September 12, as local pups took over the water for the city’s annual Doggie Pool Day.

The end-of-season event gave dogs one last chance to swim, splash and play before the municipal pool was drained and closed for the season. Dogs and their people had the pool from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with admission set at $10 per dog and humans admitted free. Proceeds from the event help support the Kanab City dog park.

Dogs were required to have current vaccinations and wear collars and were kept on leashes while entering and leaving the facility. Each handler was limited to two dogs, while the humans had to remain poolside and leave the swimming to their four-legged companions.

Kanab City shared photos from the event afterward, thanking residents who turned out for the annual canine swim.

“What a fun day at the pool with all the dogs,” the city said. “Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us.”
