Daddy-Daughter Dance held once again in the Valley

The ever-popular Daddy-Daughter Dance, again held in the Old Gym within the fairytale “I’ve Got A Dream” Junior Prom decorations, was spearheaded by Emily Lacey and a committee of moms: Shalise Sorensen, Dusti Frost and Carole Heaton.

  • Dustin and Elizabeth Cox grinning with warm-hearted delightful humor to be long-remembered.

  • Joseph and Desi Sorensen happily twirling the night away.

  • All smiles as Sheridyn and James Hoyt share a joyous moment together.

Lacey, who also served-up DJ duties, noted, “We just had our 13th Daddy-Daughter Dance under the Prom decorations at Valley High School. Our first one was 12-years-ago; the theme was ‘Tangled’ which was also the theme this year!

It just brings back so many memories. It’s grown so much - we had over 200 people tonight dancing for hours. It was great!”

The joyous gathering was founded by Valene Beardall of Glendale over a decade ago, with approximately 50 folks and when her daughter Rebekah attended Valley Elementary School. Now, her daughter Sarah is an about-to-graduate senior.

According to Sorensen, “It used to be an elementary school activity, and now it’s a community thing. All the girls keep coming back through high school. It’s one of the most anticipated events we do! It’s really cool to be a part of.”
