PRICE, Utah – The Bureau of Land Management is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to identification of those responsible for burning a historic cabin last year in the San Rafael Swell Recreation Area near Behind the Reef Road. The cabin was part of a documented historic uranium mining site.

The incident is currently under investigation. BLM became aware of the damage on May 16, 2025. Those responsible could be charged with crimes related to destruction of government property, damaging historic objects on federal lands and/or destruction of historic property on public lands.

Utah’s historic and cultural resources are part of our state’s public lands history, and the BLM appreciates our fellow Utahns’ help protecting them.
