12th annual Raven’s Heart Gallery Fall Show October 2
KANAB, Utah – All are welcome at The Raven’s Heart Gallery Fall Show and Artists’ Reception on Friday, October 2, from 6-9 p.m., at Raven’s Heart Gallery, 57 West Center Street. This is the largest show of the year at Raven’s Heart Gallery.
Enjoy this opportunity to fall in love with art and take home fantastic works while making memories meeting the artists. Fifteen fine artists will attend this year’s reception, the 12th annual Fall Show. Co-owners, Cyrus Mejía and Gary Kalpakoff opened Raven’s Heart Gallery in the fall of 2015. Since then, the fall show soiree has been a staple event for the community and artists.
This year, the gallery is excited to invite everyone to the Fall Show to celebrate community and art. The gallery is looking forward to showing off their roster of 30+ regional artists’ newest works including all the mediums - paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics and mixed media. Hors d’oeuvres and signature beverages compliment this creative evening.
The show features brand new works by the Raven’s Heart Gallery family of artists. The evening showcases everyone’s best-of-the-best at the same time and in the same space. Gallery Director, Colleen Tomlin, and her team re-hang and redisplay the entire gallery to show off the new artworks.
These curated pieces have something for everyone in a wide range of size and price from small artworks to statement pieces. Educator and Kanab native Megan Smith notes, “I love the gallery receptions because I enjoy sharing art with a broader community and learning from the artists about where their inspiration comes from.”
Attending artists include Aiden Dale, Andrea Johnson, Angela Woods, Bonnie Dunn, Colleen Tomlin, Cyrus Mejía, Dara Daniel, David Lane, Ellie Mae Clough, Gary Kalpakoff, Josh Baird, Karin Madsen, Ken Ragsdale, Natalie Gula and Willamarie Huelskamp. Some of the artists are local to Kanab, others travel to attend the show and meet collectors.
Raven’s Heart Gallery and their family of artists celebrate the local community. The Fall Show is designed for locals and visitors to enjoy the art, the space and each other. “I like the receptions because I get to spend time with interesting people in an inspiring and beautiful place,” explains local Eric Sims.
Ashley Jackson says, “Raven’s Heart Gallery is such a special part of our community. We love the range of artwork and have especially enjoyed getting to know Colleen, whose knowledge of art is matched by her southern charm and warmth. We had the opportunity to meet Gary when he helped us install one of his photographs in our new home, and we always look forward to the gallery shows and the chance to meet local artists - sometimes even watching them work. Even the dogs at the door feel like old friends.”
Raven’s Heart Gallery and their Fall Show builds community. One of Kanab’s newest locals, Kimba Forbes, shares, “The first Ravens Heart Gallery show I went to was this one last year. I truly enjoyed meeting the artists and hearing the stories behind their work. It was the first time I felt a true sense of community here, in Kanab.” This event celebrates the Kane County community and supports the local economy. Pat Guerrero, the President of the Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce notes, “While I always enjoy the opportunity to connect with people there, events like this are about more than socializing - they also encourage local spending and help strengthen our local economy.”
