Welcome back Mrs. Caroline Grover: a familiar face takes on the role of Fredonia principal

Fredonia is thrilled to welcome Mrs. Grover into her new role as principal, a role that feels like both a natural step and a meaningful milestone in a career dedicated to education, growth and service.

Mrs. Grover has spent most of her life in the teaching profession, beginning as a paraprofessional and substitute before becoming a general education teacher across all grade levels, including college. Her first official teaching role was as an English teacher at White Pine Middle School in Nevada, where she also taught math and social studies. Her journey in Fredonia began in a similar spirit of dedication, first as a paraprofessional and eventually stepping into a full-time teaching position.

Over the years, her role at Fredonia steadily evolved. While she initially focused on teaching and raising her children, she gradually became more involved in the broader school community. She took on additional responsibilities including Student Council Advisor and Academic Advisor and began volunteering on district committees. These roles allowed her to connect with students in deeper ways and helped her better understand the inner workings of the school. “I began to notice that if I did not advocate for myself, my students, or the things that needed to be done, it did not always happen,” she shared. That spirit of advocacy led her to where she is today.

Though stepping into this leadership role brings excitement, it also comes with mixed emotions. “I am excited and nervous to return to the school as a principal,” Mrs. Grover shared. “I am sad to leave my classroom and my students, but excited to know that maybe I can help more in this capacity. I love that I will be able to see all of the kids from preschool through high school daily.”

Administration was not part of her original plan. But when a master’s degree in English no longer sparked her interest, she found herself drawn to the idea of leading a school community. “I enjoy learning and I wanted a chance to be able to help in and out of the classroom,” she said. Her most recent educational pursuit was earning an associate degree in accounting, showing her ongoing love for learning and professional growth.

Mrs. Grover describes her leadership style as a blend of transformational, democratic and directive, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication and clear expectations. “I believe in setting expectations and following them. Everyone is an equally important piece of the school framework and we will only succeed if we work together as a unified team,” she said.

As a teacher, her students could always rely on her to be fair, structured and consistent. She brings those same values into her principalship, with a focus on continuing the strong math foundation built last year and expanding student success in all academic areas across every grade level. Her goal is to help build a safe and supportive school environment where both students and staff thrive.

“To all those who have helped and encouraged me on this journey, thank you,” she said. “I appreciate the outpouring of love and support from friends, teammates and community members. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with parents, students and my colleagues at the school.”

Welcome, Mrs. Grover. We are so lucky to have you leading the way.
