State of Utah initiates Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

Starting on June 28 the state of Utah will implement Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on all state and unincorporated private lands, as well as on BLM and NPS-managed lands, and the Dixie, Fishlake, and Manti-La Sal National Forests.

No open fires are allowed except in established faciliÂties at campgrounds or day-use areas on public lands, or in fire pits at private homes with pressurized running water.
Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle, trailer or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area that is paved or free from dry vegetation.
Cutting, welding or grindÂing metal in areas of dry vegetation.
Operating a motorcycle, chainsaw, ATV, or other small internal combustion engine without an approved and working spark arresÂtor.
Discharging or using fireworks, tracer ammuniÂtion, or other pyrotechnic devices, including explodÂing targets.
