We All Live Here, by Jojo Moyes

“We All Live Here” is about how messy yet endearing life can be. Lila is a best-selling author who just wrote a book about saving marriages. The book’s irony comes into play when it is revealed shortly thereafter her own marriage disintegrates. Lila is now trying to find her new place in a very complicated life. This life is complicated by quirky living situations and with vast personalities all living under one roof.

Character development is fabulous as each household member has their own problems, opinions and emotions. This assortment of personalities is clearly demonstrative of people we’ve all met a time or two in our own lives. “We All Live Here” is a spirited story depicting the ways each character must face past mistakes, problematic conversations and unexpected mishaps in order to coexist.

Overall, the book explores hope, forgiveness, love and the importance of family regardless of their imperfections but how people can still support and care for each other.
