Kane County Hospital launches grocery store donation campaign to support Care & Share

KANE COUNTY, Utah - The community is invited to come together in support of neighbors facing food insecurity as the hospital launches a countywide food drive benefiting the Care & Share Food Pantry. Rather than collecting canned goods or hosting a traditional food drive, this year’s effort focuses on something even more impactful: direct monetary donations at local grocery store checkout lanes.

From April 5 - 18, customers at participating grocery stores will have the opportunity to donate $1, $5 or $10 to our local Care and Share food pantry. Every dollar donated will go directly toward purchasing food for individuals and families in our county, no strings attached.

With the rising cost of groceries and household essentials, more local families are feeling the strain. Food prices remain significantly higher than just a few years ago, stretching already tight budgets. As expenses increase, so does the need for support from community resources like the Kane County Care & Share.

Monetary donations allow the pantry to purchase food in bulk at reduced costs, provide fresh and culturally appropriate items, respond quickly to changing community needs and maximize every donated dollar.

“In a small county like ours, we take care of each other,” Brittney Johnson Kane County Hospital’s Dietitian and Outreach Specialist shared. “This effort is about neighbors helping neighbors. Even a $1 donation can make a meaningful difference when we all participate.”

All funds raised will stay local and directly benefit residents in our county.

Community members are encouraged to participate during their regular grocery shopping trips between April 5 and 18. Simply let your cashier know you’d like to donate. Together, we can ensure families in our area have access to the food they need.
