In the words of Hospital Board Chairman Jeff Mosdell, “This facility is designed to help keep our people local. Dialysis, chemotherapy, IV treatment … now our local people won’t have travel to receive this critical care.” Hospital CEO Kurt Loveless added, “I am so excited to be here, we have the most wonderful community. Our volunteers have been supporting our equipment needs for years. The Hughes folks are here; you’re going to see some work being done pretty quick. We’re hoping this project will be two years minus.” Loveless credited the hospital board, as well as the volunteers and the hospital’s auxiliary thrift store.

The hospital’s officers and some honorees lined up with shovels in hand for the ceremonial turning of the first shovelful of dirt before the party was ushered into the hospital boardroom for refreshments and commemorative paraphernalia.
