Where were you Thanksgiving morning? In case you missed it, over 300 runners and walkers from all over the country were gathered at Kanab’s own Sherry Belle Trail to participate in the sixth annual Kanab Turkey Trot.

Kanab’s own TJ LeFevre was the Turkey to catch this year. The turkey receives a 45 second head start and the first 10 people to catch him receive a gift card! Good job TJ!
Kanab’s resident speedster, Kenidee Glazier was the overall female winner with a time of 19:40.4.
Henry Dilworth of Peoria, Ariz., was the overall male winner, and clocked a speedy time of 18:09.0 on the 5k course.
Participants ranged from avid runners out to capture one of the many prizes donated by the Kane County Water Conservancy District, to walkers and sightseers just enjoying the beautiful weather and getting a little movement in before their Thanksgiving Feasts commenced. Participants hailed from all over the US, including California, Florida, North Carolina, Idaho, Missouri, Wyoming, Texas, New York, Arizona and of course, Utah. Winners of each age group received a pie of their choice, and the first 10 runners to “Catch the Turkey” received a gift card.
The race has been held at Sherry Belle Trail for the past six years on Thanksgiving morning; be sure to come join us next year! Full results can be found online at runnercard.com.
