The Chalk Art contest remains one of the main highlights of the event with over $1,500 worth of prizes to be won. The pre-registration link will be posted online on October 1, at the Kanab Arts Board’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. Artists are encouraged to pre-register and view the contest details including all new age categories. Registration starts on October 9, at 4 p.m., by the Kanab Center.

Artists may start work on their chalk art right after they register and must be finished by October 12, at 9 a.m., for judging. During these days, locals and visitors alike will be able to enjoy the sight of artists of all ages applying their creativity to their chalk art masterpieces on the sidewalks of Kanab City.

On October 12, the Kanab Arts Festival will start from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Kanab Center. The festivities include a performance by Red Rock Dance, a Blind Contour Drawing Competition for Adults, announcement of the Chalk Art winners, an Interactive Music Workshop and a dance performance by Studio 12. Children’s crafts, corn husk doll making by the Kanab Museum, literary activities by the Kanab City Library, face painting and more will also be happening at the same time.
