The Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce finished a banner year in 2022, growing its membership by 50 percent and its business directory by more than 100 percent. With a renewed dedication to business and economic diversity and growth, the chamber welcomed Kane County, the City of Kanab, the Kane County Office of Tourism, and Parry Lodge as sustaining members over the last year, as well as more than two dozen local businesses as general members.
Established in 1967, the Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization dedicated to the creation of a strong local economy, promoting the local business community, providing networking opportunities for its members, and representing local business interests to government entities. Any individual person, firm, chamber, partnership, association, or legal entity having an interest in the objectives of the Chamber is eligible to apply for membership.
Standout chamber events in 2022 included the Raising Kane Business Summit at Kanab Center, two candidate forums hosted in partnership with the Southern Utah News, monthly networking luncheons and breakfasts, and two enthusiastically attended ribbon cuttings for The Cut Scene and Taro Coffee Bar.
Guest speakers in 2022 included, among others, Kanab City Mayor Colten Johnson, Kanab City Manager Kyler Ludwig, Kane County Commissioner Wade Heaton, Donna Huntsman from the Kanab City Planning Commission, and Wendy Allan of the Kane County Planning Commission.
The Kanab Area Chamber’s board is hard at work on plans for the new year, starting with participation in the Raising Kane Business Summit on January 13th at Kanab Center. Look for their display table at the event!
