The 25th annual Heritage Apple Festival will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 13-14, in Glendale, Utah on Highway 89.
The Apple Festival celebrates the production, harvest and sale of apple products, handicrafts and games and includes a large community banquet dinner at the town park. Glendale is a quaint, historic town, with a vibrant farming history. The Apple Festival is an opportunity to showcase and share the rich heritage of Long Valley.
The Apple Festival will kick off Friday afternoon with the Quilt and Art show. Come by to see beautiful handmade quilts, afghans and beautiful artwork. There is also a handmade quilt being raffled off this year! It was hand pieced by amazing local quilter, Clara Maxwell, who was featured in last year’s quilt show. Come by to see it and don’t forget to get your raffle tickets! Tickets are $2 and the winner will be announced at the close of the vendor fair on Saturday afternoon. The Quilt Show will be Friday and Saturday, make sure you stop by!
Are you a great cook? There will be an Apple Dessert Cook-Off with great prizes! Bring your entry to the Glendale Town Hall at 4 p.m. Stay for the Community Dinner at 6 p.m. and sample all the desserts! Winners will be announced during the dinner. There will be a Junior Category for bakers ages 8-15, and a Senior Category for bakers ages 16 and up.
The Apple Festival Community Dinner will be at the Glendale Town Park Pavilion at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 13. Local chefs are serving up Brisket, BBQ pork, dutch oven potatoes and more. It will be delicious, and while you eat, enjoy live entertainment from The W Duo.
After dinner, spread out a blanket and enjoy our Outdoor Movie in the Park. There will be popcorn, hot chocolate and a fun family friendly movie for everyone to enjoy.
On Saturday, October 14, there will be even more amazing events for everyone to enjoy. Come to the Glendale Ballfield to compete or watch the exciting Archery Tournament. There are age groups for kids, teens and adults with amazing prizes in each category. Bring your friends and test your archery skills!
The vendor fair at the Glendale Town Park will feature food and craft vendors selling a variety of goods you won’t want to miss, including, of course, apples and apple pies. This year there will be fresh apple cider being pressed on site. Vendor village will be open at 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and will include live entertainment and a variety of activities for the whole family including the Kids Craft Corner from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., and Kids Games with fun prizes from 1 - 3 p.m.
If you love apple pie, there will be Apple Pie Eating contests at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Glendale Park. $2 entry fee, win great prizes while eating some delicious apple pie!
New this year will be a drawing workshop with local artist Julie Rogers. Known for her inspiring portraits, this workshop will be a great opportunity to learn from an amazing artist. It will take place at 3 p.m.
At 4 p.m., there will be a Fruit Tree Pruning Class, offered by the USU Extension office in the Glendale Town Park under the apple trees. They will have a live demonstration to help you improve your trees’ appearance and fruit production. This class is being offered completely free of charge! There will be a door prize drawing for all who attend.
