Free tasting, new menu, mark Peekaboo Canyon Wood Fired Kitchen’s 10th anniversary celebration
KANAB – This Saturday, October 3, from 4 - 7 p.m., Peekaboo Canyon Wood Fired Kitchen will celebrate 10 years in business with the rollout of a new menu, free tastings, a 25 percent discount on new menu items and a complimentary desert for table orders over $25. Standard local’s discount on regular menu items apply.

The restaurant on Center Street was opened in the fall of 2016 by four friends, Gregory and Julie Castle, along with Francis and Silva Battista with the intent of introducing delicious vegetarian and vegan food to Southern Utah. It was a first and remains the only fully vegetarian / vegan menu in Kane County. Wood Fired Pizzas headline the fare, with Impossible, Beyond Meat and portobello burgers as fan favorites. For skeptical carnivores, Peekaboo guarantees burger satisfaction. A surprise collection of new menu items will debut at the anniversary celebration on Saturday.
“In our travels around the west we would often visit small towns like Kanab in size and unique character, in Utah, Arizona or California and the most memorable had a niche restaurant with a cool vibe and great food. That’s what inspired us to open Peekaboo Kitchen,” says Battista adding that, “sadly, our friend, fellow adventurer and Julie’s husband, Gregory Castle passed away in 2025, and we will miss him dearly on this occasion.”
Peekaboo Kitchen has earned multiple hospitality awards, including TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award, and has been featured on KUTV 2’s Taste of Utah. Still, co-owner Francis Battista says his favorite recognition comes from Italian tourists who tell him the restaurant serves the best pizza they have tasted outside Italy.
Guests are advised to save room some amazing dessert featuring to-die-for carrot cake. Fine wines, craft cocktails and a great selection of on-tap and bottled beers are available.
Specials and discounts on selected items will continue through October.
