Fredonia Elementary School (FES) Kindergarten, first and second grade braved the snowy weather to treat the folks at the Fredonia Senior Center to songs, reading and handmade valentines on Thursday.
To start off the festivities, students held up colorful coordinating letters and sang “A- you’re adorable” and then all three versus of “You are my sunshine” to brighten up the snowy day. The songs were met with great applause and smiles.
Up next, the students paired together to read to the seniors. Many books were read to attentive listeners and after the seniors enjoyed fun conversations discussing the books.
Lastly, the students handed out handmade valentines that were decorated in bright colors with handwritten sentiments inside. A fun time was had by everyone and the senior citizens enjoyed opening and reading the sweet valentines. FES wants to thank everyone who was a part of this fun activity. The kids had an amazingly fun time singing and reading. Happy Valentine’s Day from FES!
