Desert Bloom Café & Campground celebrates opening
Desert Bloom Café & Campground recently celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce.

The business is owned by Griffin Hill, Madison Grose, Michael Hatem and Becca Mccallister, a group of friends originally from Columbus, Ohio. Hill and Grose first discovered Kanab during a road trip several years ago and have lived in the area for about two years. Hatem and Mccallister later joined them in Kanab.
The four owners bring experience in the service and hospitality industries and had long discussed opening a restaurant together. At Desert Bloom, they said they hope to create a comfortable gathering place where residents and visitors can relax over coffee and food.
The café incorporates several locally sourced products, including sourdough bread from Sweet Sourdough Kanab, jam from West Winds Ranch, honey from Beedaddy Apiaries and meat from Kanab Custom Meats. Its coffee comes from Stauf’s Coffee Roasters, a longtime Columbus coffee shop and a favorite of the owners.
In addition to the café, Desert Bloom offers camping accommodations including geodesic domes and full-hookup RV sites, along with stargazing opportunities. Chamber Vice President Ron Thomas welcomed those attending the ribbon cutting before turning the ceremonial scissors over to the four owners, who marked the occasion by cutting the ribbon together.
