Visitors to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park will soon have a new way to stay overnight, with construction underway on a small rental cabin designed to bridge the gap between traditional camping and more developed lodging.

The new cabin, described as a primitive, tiny-home– style structure, will accommodate up to six people and is intended for year-round use, according to Assistant Park Manager Jaylin Broadbent. Park officials hope to have construction completed and reservations available by the summer season.
While the cabin will not include its own restroom or shower, guests will have access to a nearby restroom and shower building within the park.
Reservations will be handled through ReserveAmerica, the same online system currently used for Utah State Parks campsites and facilities.
Broadbent said the decision to add a rental cabin was driven by a desire to make overnight stays at Coral Pink Sand Dunes more accessible to a broader range of visitors. The cabin is intended to provide a comfortable option for those who may not own camping equipment or who are traveling from out of state.
“This helps bridge the gap between traditional camping and more developed lodging,” Broadbent said. “It’s especially helpful for visitors who are flying in or don’t have the ability to bring tents, trailers or other gear.”
Located within the park, the cabin will offer convenient access to recreational areas while still allowing guests to experience the distinctive landscape and dark skies the park is known for. Broadbent said the cabin is well suited for a wide range of activities, including OHV riding, hiking, photography, stargazing and winter visits.
Staying in the cabin will differ from camping primarily in comfort and simplicity. Guests will have a solid structure and will only need to bring basic personal items such as bedding, rather than specialized camping equipment. Park staff say this opens the door to visitors who want an easier overnight option without sacrificing the outdoor experience.
Broadbent said the park expects strong demand once the cabin becomes available, noting that it will be a unique lodging option at Coral Pink Sand Dunes.
“We’re excited about this addition and look forward to welcoming guests who want to enjoy Coral Pink Sand Dunes in a new way,” he said.
