The Kanab 10k is once again being held on Mother’s Day weekend in 2022! Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 7!
The 6.2 mile scenic course begins at 7 a.m., at the historic Moqui Cave, and meanders alongside Kanab Creek and the Vermilion Cliffs along Highway 89. We received great feedback about last year’s finish line, so we’re keeping it at the Kanab Center! No more uphill to the finish line. Walkers and runners must complete the first five miles of the course in two hours or less. Strollers are allowed on the course.
Registration is now open and only $25 until March 7. Children seventeen and under are only $15. Entry fee includes a t-shirt, race swag and race bib! Register at KanabCityRec.com or RunnerCard.com. Custom trophies by Western Hills will be awarded to the overall male and female winner as well as the top finisher in each age division. Kanab City will be serving up pancakes for participants to enjoy after crossing the finish line. Spectators can purchase the pancake breakfast for $2.
Packet pickup will be at the Kanab City Offices (26 N 100 E) on Friday, May 6, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Late registration will also be available during that time. Packets can also be picked up the morning of the race at the Kanab Center beginning at 6 a.m. Participants must be at the front entrance parking lot of the Kanab Center by 6:30 a.m., to take a shuttle bus to the starting line. Please note, the highway will only be open to one-way traffic from 300 N. to Moqui Cave on May 7, between 6:30 and 9 a.m. Consequently, delays should be expected on Highway 89, and the south entrance to Best Friends will be closed between 7 and 8 a.m., so please plan accordingly.
This is one of Kanab City’s premier events as many businesses and individuals converge to create a sense of community. We want everyone to experience it. So run, walk, volunteer or cheer. We will see you there!
