Members of Adventures in Recovery (AiR) devoted two hours to cleaning up the Levi Stewart Memorial Park in Kanab this past Saturday as part of their ongoing commitment to service and recovery through outdoor connection.

To organize the project, AiR contacted Matt Brown, a JustServe specialist in Kanab. Matt coordinated with Donnie Riddle from Kanab City to make arrangements for the service effort, and Donnie supplied the necessary tools. Both Matt and Donnie expressed their appreciation for the group’s dedication and were impressed with the extent and quality of the cleanup.
AiR is a 12‑Step group that focuses on “living the Steps in real life” by combining nature adventures, personal connection, 12‑Step sharing, and community service projects. Thirteen men participated in this three‑day adventure, marking the group’s 12th official outing since its formation.
“Our adventures are about recovery in motion - taking what we learn in meetings and living it out through service and connection,” said an AiR organizer. “Serving in Kanab gave us a chance to give back and strengthen our recovery together.”
The group has previously performed service projects in Hanksville, Escalante, Duck Creek, Salt Lake City, Bear Lake, American Fork, Torrey and other locations throughout Utah. Through shared outdoor experiences and hands‑on service, AiR members find renewed purpose and a powerful sense of community.
