Troy Hooper joins Fredonia-Moccasin School District

FMUSD is excited to welcome Troy Hooper as the new Social Studies teacher.

Fredonia-Moccasin Unified School District welcomes Troy Hooper as the new Social Studies teacher.

Troy grew up in Ogden, Utah, and later moved to Eagle Mountain, Utah, at the age of nine. He currently lives in Kanab, Utah, with his wife - who is also a teacher - and their five children, three boys and two girls, ranging in age from three to 11. Troy is the youngest in his family and is known for having a strong adventurous spirit and a willingness to take on new challenges.

Troy brings a diverse background in education and communication, holding a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in Spanish, as well as a master’s degree in History. He also served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Culiacán, Mexico, where he strengthened his Spanish language skills and developed a strong appreciation for cross-cultural connection. He enjoys using his Spanish in both personal and professional settings.

Outside of work, Troy enjoys skateboarding, hiking, running and staying active in a wide range of sports - PE was his favorite subject in school. We’re glad to have Troy join the team and look forward to the experience and energy he brings.
