Thomas Lawrence
July 17, 1946 – March 12, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Lawrence. On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the age of 78, he passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Tom was born July 17, 1946, in San Diego, California, to Richard and Arlene Lawrence.
Tom spent the majority of his life in Arizona. This is where he raised his own family. After high school Tom joined the Navy, where he spent time in Vietnam. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran.
After returning from Vietnam, he married and had a family that he raised in Kingman, Arizona.
In 1984, he reunited with his high school sweetheart, Mary Cisney. They married in June of 1985, and raised a blended family together. In 1989 they relocated to Kanab, Utah, and after a short time they moved to Fredonia, Arizona.
Dad wanted to live the life of a cowboy and began looking for a ranch to buy with his brother-in-law. By this time they had four daughters, Donna, Laura, Nancy, and Ellen. With Ellen being only six weeks old, the family moved to Kannah Creek in Colorado. Harriet thought Don had moved her to hell! Over the next 30 years the family grew to love the high desert of Colorado. The last daughter was born and the family settled into ranching and farming for many years. Harriet became an expert in the cattle drive, holding a bunch and heading them off when needed. She could run every piece of equipment for haying the family had except for the plow and stack wagon. Being members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they were very active in their area.
Tom loved people and never met a stranger. He loved to visit, knew just about everyone, always had a story to tell, and had a joke at the ready. There was never a dull moment, or room without laughter when he was around.
Tom is survived by his sister Nora Dimmick; his three children: Donna (Nathan) Spencer, Rebecca (Bryan) Elliott and Cody Lawrence; grandchildren Brittney (Billy) Schaffer, Christopher (Janae) Mannarelli, Lillee Spencer, Andrew (Teresa) Ferguson, Vanessa Hartford, Shadd Hartford, Michael Hartford; and eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lawrence; siblings Lorna, Curtis, Carl and Dickie Sue Lawrence; son Dana Hartford; granddaughter Kasey Ferguson; and great-grandsons Zebby Blevins and Ronan Ferguson.
Services for Tom were held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Mosdell Mortuary, 676 U.S. 89A, Kanab, Utah 84741.
