Jerry K. Glover, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born third of five brothers to Jim and Wanda Glover on February 3, 1947. Jerry had many loves including raising animals, hiking the red hills with his brothers, horse racing, hunting and sports.
Jerry graduated from Kanab High School in 1965. He married Susan McAllister on May 25, 1968. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple.
Jerry loved Kanab and never wanted to be far from his home. He and his brother Ron owned and operated Glover’s Lumber for over 25 years. He enjoyed serving his community and making friends. He and Susan worked side by side at the lumber store where they could make a living to raise their four children: Klint (Linsey) Glover, Kammy (Mickey) Houston, Tracy (Debra) Glover and Casey (Becky) Glover. The Greatest love of Jerry’s life was his family. He spent many hours watching and supporting his children and grandchildren in all their activities.
He is survived by siblings Jim M. (Jacqueline) Glover, Kenneth N. (Karen) Glover, his wife of 58 years Susan; their four children; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren (with several more on the way). He is preceded in death by parents Jim and Wanda Glover; and siblings Ron (Cindee) Glover and Greg (Gina) Glover.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, at 11 a.m. at the Kanab South Chapel. Viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. There will also be a viewing at the Chapel from 6 - 8 p.m., on Friday evening, August 14. Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery. Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.
