Callie Spencer

July 17, 1961 – April 29, 2025

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Callie Spencer, who departed this life on April 29, 2025 in Nampa, Idaho, at the age of 63.

Callie was born on July 17, 1961, in Kanab, Utah, to Clarence and Collene (Anderson) Spencer. Weighing four lbs three oz., she caused quite the excitement. The hospital had to make an incubator of sorts to keep her in until she had gained enough weight to go home. Most of her childhood was spent in Glendale, Utah.

She began elementary school while her family was living in Salt Lake City, but they soon returned to southern Utah. Callie attended Valley Elementary and Valley High School, where she graduated as an honor student in 1979. She went on to attend Southern Utah State College in Cedar City.

Following a year of college, Callie spent five adventurous years working for TW Services in several national parks, including Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, and the Grand Canyon. She then returned to southern Utah and worked in the service industry while living in the Glendale area. From 1986 to 1989, she lovingly cared for her mother, Collene, who was a quadriplegic providing round-the-clock support, care and companionship. Her selfless service was a great blessing to her family.

In 2012, Callie moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she worked as a caregiver, blessing the lives of many with her gentle spirit and unwavering compassion.

On January 3, 2018, she married Jessie Green, in Florence, Arizona. The two founded Gypsy Chick Trucking in 2019 and spent the next few years traveling the United States delivering goods. Together, they made their home base in Redmond, Utah, where Callie was living at the time of her passing.

Callie was very talented and enjoyed drawing, creating beautiful things, and everything tie-dyed. She especially loved drawing dragons and celtic knots.

Callie is survived by spouse Jessie Green of Payette, Idaho; her father, Clarence (Joyce) Spencer of St. George, Utah; her sister, Tammy (James) Shields of Kimball, Nebraska; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Collene Spencer, grandparents, Dallas and Lila (Reese) Anderson and Isaac and Sylvia (Allred) Spencer, and nephew Mathew Shields.

Callie was known for her quiet strength, gentle kindness, and a heart full of love. She touched countless lives with her compassion and warmth. She is deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and will live in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Glendale, Utah.

Her ashes will be interred in the Glendale Cemetery.
