The Lady Cowboys hosted the 1A Panguitch Bobcats on Wednesday, December 8, to a rowdy crowd eager to support our 2A runner ups from last year.
The Cowboys came out cooking in the first quarter, racking up 18 points to the Bobcats’ seven. The girls stifling defense helped extend the lead by holding the Bobcats to only one bucket in the second quarter, giving the Cowboys a 25-9 lead at halftime.
The crowd saw a more even second half as the Bobcats finally got a scoring attack going, but it was too little too late, as the Cowboys sailed their way to victory with a 47-32 point margin.
Senior Grayce Glover led in the scoring department with 15 points, followed by sophomore Anna Cutler with nine. It was a well-balanced scoring attack after that with Tyler Nez and Rylie Staton dropping in eight a-piece, while Chloe Collins added six.
The Lady Cowboys will host the 4A-Crimson Cliffs Mustangs on Thursday, December 16.
