Fredonia Middle and High School students were given a “Roadmap to Success” last Thursday during the Fredonia Career Day and Teen Job Fair.  Students were given a full afternoon of presentations and exhibits to help them make informed decisions about their futures.

The afternoon began with a dozen presenters from several professions and higher education establishments, including Zion’s Pharmacy, American National Insurance, Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology, Southern Utah University and more.  Presenters spoke on many pertinent topics to assist students in their planning, such as “teen financial literacy” and “job skills for life.”

After the presentations, students moved to the gym where more than 20 exhibitors were on hand to answer questions. Students were able to explore the job and educational opportunities within the community, and were encouraged to distribute resumes and complete applications to take full advantage of the day.

The successful afternoon was the result of months of hard work by event coordinators Colette Cox and Lisa Findlay, as well as their wonderful volunteers.
