The Varsity and JV teams both took the consolation championship in the 2010 Cowboy Classic. Each team lost to the North Sevier Wolves on Wednesday and beat the Millard Eagles on Thursday. Both played great and with a lot of heart.

The varsity team lost to the Wolves by 18 points, 65-47. The Cowboys were led in scoring by senior John Terrel with 14 points. Conor Corry netted 10, while Yanni Gallagher added six.

At the end of the third quarter, the game was relatively close, but the Wolves sealed the victory with a 22-8 run to end the game.

In the game against the Millard Eagles, the varsity team won by two points, 58-56. The Cowboys were led by John Terrel and Brandon Jenson, with each scoring 18 points. Conor Corry added 10 points and Shay Niemann netted eight. Kade Quarnberg scored three points in the game, but they were a crucial three points, putting Kanab ahead by one. Terrel made one of two free throws to put Kanab ahead by two, enough for the victory.

South Sevier blew out North Sevier to win the Classic Championship 72-49. The Rams defeated Millard by 30 points, 74-44, on Wednesday to get into the title game.

This Friday, the Cowboys host Pahranagat Valley, Nevada. Varsity tip-off is at 7 p.m.
