Some things never change, thank goodness. As I visited the Valley kindergarten class, I was reminded of my own kindergarten days. The smell of fresh baked cookies and the excitement of getting so many valentines were apparent in the class of 20 students. Remember how fun it was to go home after the party and sort all your valentines. Of course, you picked the most special one, as someone you secretly adored had given you a beautiful valentine with a PINK PIG on the front, holding an I LOVE YOU heart and the words hogs and kisses was so romantic.
Some of the valentines would have words scribbled on the back suggesting you had to guess who sent the valentine. Then you had to hunt and find the tiny name hidden someplace on the valentine.
The excitement from the Valley kindergarters was most apparent, as some of the students decorated a special cookie for me. Thank you class and teacher Mrs. Leigh and helper Miss Andrea. If you ever want to feel the spirit of love and great fun, visit a kindergarten class. They are so delightful. And if you are really lucky, you might get a frosted cookie. Thanks to all the teachers who put so much time and effort into the preservation of holiday memories. You are so deserving of a special valentine.
