The 10th annual “Raising Kane” Business Summit is taking place on Friday, January 10, 2020, at the newly completed Kanab Center.

Walk up registrations are welcome at the door and is $15 to attend, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch.

The business summit begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m., after which the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) is holding their monthly board meeting at the Kanab Center from 1 to 3 p.m. and is free to attend.

Deanna Glover will be honored at the grand opening ribbon cutting of the Kanab Center happening at 3:30 p.m. in front of the center at the entrance closest to the Kanab Heritage Museum.

Speakers at the 2020 Raising Kane include State of Utah Lt. Governor Spencer Cox; Val Hale, Director of Governor’s Office of Economic Development; Jeff Burningham, successful businessman and one of the founding members of Silicon Slopes; Mace Glazier, Pluralsight; Kane County Office of Tourism Director Camille Johnson; and concluding with keynote speaker from Pixar Animation Studios, Daniel Holland.

Topics covered at the summit will include the state of Kanab City, Women’s Business Center of Utah, state of Kane County, economic development, Silicon Sands, local business developments, and more.

The business summit is offered at a highly reduced rate thanks to the generosity of partners including the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Utah Division of Arts and Museums, Center for Education, Business, and the Arts, Economic Development Corporation of Utah, Kane County Office of Tourism, Kane County, Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce, Kanab City, Dixie Business Resource Center, Utah Office of Tourism, Utah Film Commission, and Southwest Tech.
