Our community orchestra, Symphony of the Canyons, is proud to present the annual Christmas Festival December 6 and 7. A 30-year tradition, we are excited to be able to use the new Kanab Center for the dinner and concert. The Saturday festival will be held at the Kanab Middle School.

All proceeds from this event are used to fund the operations of the symphony throughout 2020. We feel we make history each New Year.

Founded in 1984, the symphony finds challenges that even our famous professional orchestras face. We feel that it is important to continue to perform music from the treasured composers of the past, as well as more modern music. We are looking forward to 2020, which will be the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death.

The concert by the symphony will be ramped up this year! “HIGH OCTANE CHRISTMAS” featuring music by Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Mannheim Steamroller.

We are pleased to join with Studio 12 and Red Rock dancers, as well as the Kanab Elementary Buckaroo Chorale.

Dinner will be catered by Houston’s and table settings by local artisans.

Tickets for the dinner are $35 including the concert. The concert will take place as a separate event. Tickets for the concert only are $10. They can be purchased online at symphonyofthecanyons.org or at Zion Pharmacy, Glazier’s Family Market or Honey’s Marketplace.

The festival on Saturday will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be many vendors, fantastic entertainment and tasty food. Be sure and get ready to win an opportunity basket with services and merchandise donated by our local businesses. Admission is only $2.

We are going to auction a full-size fantasy cottage, hand-built that would delight any child’s imagination. The auction winner will have the cottage delivered to within 80 miles of Kanab.
