The new rides in town are fairly fancy; providing tourists and locals alike shuttle rides to a variety of nearby attractions and locations. The Mercedes Sprinter vans provide air-conditioned comfort, with large seats and accomplished drivers to wheel them in style, not only to the signature destinations around southern Utah and northern Arizona, but to city destinations like St. George, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.

“The Kanab Shuttle has been operating approximately five weeks now,” said Casey Young of the new business to Kanab. “I’ve partnered with long-established Utah Mountain Shuttle. They have operated primarily in Salt Lake City, mainly providing ski shuttles.”

Their motto is: “We are on time, every time and treat our passengers like family. We move mountains to ensure your transfers are seamless.”

The Kanab Shuttle travels to Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell at Antelope Point Marina every Thursday and Sunday, departing at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 2 p.m. The shuttle travels from Kanab to Bryce Canyon National Park every Tuesday and Friday, departing at 8 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m. (Both of those trips are $60 per person roundtrip.) You do need to call to book seats.

The Kanab Shuttle runs every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday to Zion National Park, departing at 8:30 a.m., and returning at 5 p.m. This ride is $50 per person roundtrip. A scenic trip to the North Rim, Arizona, is $70 per person roundtrip.

Young said he thinks the business is needed here as Kanab grows in tourism. “There’s a lot of European people who come in to our area and just don’t want to drive. I’d say tourists are our biggest customers, but we also want to cater to the locals.”

“I also think this is a positive environmental solution.” said Young, “We have 12 passenger vans, that’s taking six cars off the road.”
